Let me see if I have this, this guy was riding a Segway with no helmet and wearing a blindfold and him falling off and getting injured is someone else's fault? That's a hard one to wrap your thought process around.
What ever happened to personal responsibility in this Country? How in the hell is being a dumbass always someone else's fault? Holy shit. And to think that a JURY awarded this guy money. Our legal system needs a massive overhaul. Our Country needs a massive overhaul.
No one should be paid for being a dumbass. Unless, of course, they are one of the stars of Jackass, those dumbasses are awesome...
A Bridgeport jury has awarded $10 million to a 23-year-old man who suffered a brain injury in a Segway accident.
The jury on Wednesday determined that New Hampshire-based Segway Inc. and two employees were responsible for John Ezzo's injuries in the accident, which happened at a company demonstration of its two-wheeled vehicle at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven in September 2009.
Ezzo's lawyer, Robert Adelman, says his client was riding the Segway blindfolded and without a helmet through an obstacle course set up by company workers when he fell off and injured his head.
Adelman says Ezzo had to drop out of the university because of the injury and is now a handyman.
