UN report says Kase Lawal knew he was dealing with the wanted warlord Bosco Ntaganda

A US trade adviser appointed by Barack Obama orchestrated a deal to buy gold worth millions of dollars from a wanted Congolese warlord, according to a UN report.

Kase Lawal, a Nigerian-born US oil tycoon, transferred millions of dollars to the notorious rebel leader Bosco Ntaganda between December 2010 and February 2011 as part of the deal, the report by the UN's Group of Experts on the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) states.

If true, this would be a contravention of UN resolutions banning individuals or organisations from financing illegal armed groups in the wartorn eastern DRC.

The UN report says Lawal, the chairman and chief executive of the Houston-based oil firm Camac, was aware he was paying Ntaganda.

Obama put Lawal on the US advisory committee for trade and policy negotiations in September 2010, just months before the deal with Ntaganda.

All efforts to reach Lawal failed. Camac said it had no comment on the allegations, but said: "Camac is a law-abiding company and we disagree with the representations made in the report." The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Ntaganda has been wanted by the international criminal court (ICC) since an arrest warrant was issued in 2006. He funds his exploits by smuggling natural resources in the mineral-rich country, and faces allegations of recruiting child soldiers and presiding over mass rapes and murder of civilians by his troops in the National Congress for the Defence of the People (CNDP).

The CNDP militia has since integrated into the Congolese national army but its soldiers continue to obey rebel command structures.

Ntaganda, like many rebel leaders in eastern DRC, funds his activities by smuggling natural resources.

The UN says "gold is among the sources of financing most readily available to armed groups".

According to the report, while Lawal was initially under the impression that he was buying gold from an owner in Kenya, he did not abort the deal when he learned Ntaganda was the true owner.

Instead, the UN report says Lawal merely "appeared relieved to finally be engaging directly with the true owner of the gold".

The report says Lawal financed the deal while Edward Carlos St Mary, a Houston businessman and friend of Lawal's, carried out the transaction in DRC. The deal was proposed to the two men by Dikembe Mutombo, a Congolese former NBA player with the Houston Rockets, and three of his relatives.

Despite paying, Lawal never received the gold. St Mary flew to Goma in DRC to finish the deal in a Camac-leased jet, but the passengers were arrested by Congolese presidential security officers as they tried to take off with the gold in February 2011.

St Mary and two Camac employees were charged with money-laundering and illegal transport of a banned material, because at this time the Congolese government had banned mining of gold, tin and coltan in the provinces where the minerals trade was affected by illegal armed groups. The three men were released in late March after Camac's Kinshasa representative paid $3m (£1.9m) in fines.

Substantial sums of money were involved from the start. The report says Lawal told St Mary he had lost "$30m as a result of the whole ordeal, including transport fees, fines, bribes" and the payments for the gold.

Jason Stearns, a former Group of Experts co-ordinator, said: "This is a fine example of the rank disregard of international law by major international companies and businessmen.

"Lawal knew Bosco Ntaganda was involved in the deal, so he was knowingly doing business with a man wanted by the ICC. On top of that, there was a Congolese mining ban in place at the time. And finally, he's probably violating a UN arms embargo on the region."

A source close to the UN who asked to remain anonymous said: "The whole thing was a scam. It's likely the Congolese were always going to arrest [St Mary and the others] and keep the money and the gold. The charge of illegal transport of a banned material was a pretext for the arrests.

"In reality, the Congolese authorities and Ntaganda worked together to ensure full payment was made for the gold, that the gold never left the DRC, and that the arrested men would have to pay a series of heavy fines to secure their release."

St Mary agrees. Speaking to the Guardian from Houston, he said that at one stage he nearly pulled out of the deal, only to be put on the phone to Zoé Kabila, the president's brother, who reassured him the gold dealers were "legitimate". That was before he knew Ntaganda was involved.

Later, in Goma, St Mary said Ntaganda was arguing with Joseph Kabila, DRC's president, on the phone. "They were arguing over how to split the cash," he said. "Even when I first met Ntaganda, he told me he'd just spoken to Kabila and that we'd be able to leave with the gold with no problem."

President barack obama has been taking lumps from Republicans for years over his support for Wall Street and health care reform, but today at the National Prayer Breakfast he claimed support from on high to defend two of his most controversial legislative achievements.

"And so when I talk about our financial institutions playing by the same rules as folks on Main Street, when I talk about making sure insurance companies aren’t discriminating against those who are already sick, or making sure that unscrupulous lenders aren’t taking advantage of the most vulnerable among us, I do so because I genuinely believe it will make the economy stronger for everybody. But I also do it because I know that far too many neighbors in our country have been hurt and treated unfairly over the last few years, and I believe in God’s command to 'love thy neighbor as thyself.'"

"I know the version of that Golden Rule is found in every major religion and every set of beliefs — from Hinduism to Islam to Judaism to the writings of Plato," obama added.

The president said he often falls to his knees in prayer, and emphasized the role of his religious values in determining where to lead the country.

"I’d be remiss if I stopped there; if my values were limited to personal moments of prayer or private conversations with pastors or friends. So instead, I must try — imperfectly, but I must try — to make sure those values motivate me as one leader of this great nation."

Obama maintained that his call for the wealthiest to give up their tax breaks, he's doing so out of economic necessity, but also in line with biblical teachings.

"And I think to myself, if I’m willing to give something up as somebody who’s been extraordinarily blessed, and give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I actually think that’s going to make economic sense. But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that 'for unto whom much is given, much shall be required,'" obama said, noting Jewish and Islamic teachings say much the same thing.

obama also defended foreign aid from assault, noting that it not just enhances the nation's security — but fulfills the biblical requirement to look out for those who cannot speak for themselves.

"And when I decide to stand up for foreign aid, or prevent atrocities in places like Uganda, or take on issues like human trafficking, it’s not just about strengthening alliances, or promoting democratic values, or projecting American leadership around the world, although it does all those things and it will make us safer and more secure. It’s also about the biblical call to care for the least of these — for the poor; for those at the margins of our society.

To answer the responsibility we’re given in Proverbs to 'Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.'"

Florida primary vote tomorrow...

Tomorrow the voters of the Great State of Florida go to the polls in the republican primary. Everyone says Romney is far out in front.

I have to tell you, I think all the back and forth nastiness between Newt and Romney is bullshit. These guys seem willing to do or say anything to get votes. I'm about sick of both of them.

I think I am liking Rick Santorum more each day, but the guy is unelectable. He isn't too conservative for me, but I think he might be for the more moderate voters.

I have a feeling that unless Newt and Romney knock off the petty shit, they are going to cost us the election in November. They are dividing instead of unifying. This election should be about obama and the lousy job he has done, the ruinous policies he has forced on our Country. Instead these two idiots attack each other in down right mean ways. It's not interesting and it certainly isn't productive.

obama has provided candidates with plenty of ammunition to attack him with. It's time to get down to the business of showing this Country why the republican on the ticket would be FAR superior to the socialist we have now...

The department of homeland security makes fake Twitter and Facebook profiles for the specific purpose of scanning the networks for 'sensitive' words - and tracking people who use them.

Simply using a word or phrase from the dhs's 'watch' list could mean that spies from the government read your posts, investigate your account, and attempt to identify you from it, acccording to an online privacy group.

The words which attract attention range from ones seemingly related to diseases or bioweapons such as 'human to animal' and 'outbreak' to other, more obscure words such as 'drill' and 'strain'.

The dhs also watches for words such as 'illegal immigrant'.

The dhs outlined plans to scans blogs, Twitter and Facebook for words such as 'illegal immigrant', 'outbreak', 'drill', 'strain', 'virus', 'recovery', 'deaths', 'collapse', 'human to animal' and 'trojan', according to an 'impact asssessment' document filed by the agency.

When its search tools net an account using the phrases, they record personal information.

It's still not clear how this information is used - and who the dhs shares it with.

An online privacy group, the Electronic Privacy Information Centre has requested information on the dhs's scans, which it says the agency announced in February.

The privacy group has requested information on the dhs, and contractors it claims are working with the agency to scan social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The group says that the government has used scans of social media before to analyse specific events - such as the 2010 BP oil spill - but this general 'watching' of social media using fake profiles is new.

'The initiatives were designed to gather information from 'online forums, blogs, public websites, and message boards,' to store and analyze the information gathered, and then to 'disseminate relevant and appropriate de-identified information to federal, state, local, and foreign governments and private sector partners,' the group said in a court filing.

The group claims that a request under the Freedom of Information Act to access the documentation has gone unanswered.

The White House plans to ask Congress for an increase in the debt limit before the end of the week, according to a senior Treasury Department official.

The debt limit is projected to fall within $100 billion of the current cap by December 30. President Barack Obama is expected to ask for additional borrowing authority to increase the limit by $1.2 trillion.

Under the new budget, Congress can only vote to block the debt-ceiling extension with a disapproval resolution. Lawmakers have 15 days within receiving the request to vote down the debt limit increase.

The debt limit currently stands at $15.194 trillion and would increase to $16.394 trillion with the request.

So let me get this straight, obama said George W. Bush was unpatriotic because he added $4 Trillion dollars to the debt in 8 years.

obama has added more than $6 TRILLION dollars to the debt in 3 years. That makes him the most unpatriotic son of a bitch ever in the history of this Country.

justice department rejects South Carolina voter id law...

The South Carolina law requiring voters to show an id, drivers license, passport or birth certificate has been rejected by the obama justice department. Imagine that. Who would have thunk it. The justice department actually doing something to prevent voter fraud? Never gonna happen. Not with this bunch of thugs and criminals.

Here is Missouri, when I vote, I am asked for my id. I'm more than happy to show it.

According to everything I have read, South Carolina is willing to provide people an id free of charge.

With the latest episodes of fraud in New York and Indiana, there is plenty of proof that election fraud is real and it is an important issue to get a handle on. Of course, the obama justice department isn't too concerned since it seems most of the cases lately have worked in their favor. Why would obama and holder want to cure the disease that helped get obama elected?

And they should both know that they will never win in the general election. Why is it, exactly, that they would run as a third party under those conditions?

If we are forced to endure another 4 years of obama, we are doomed. Our Country can't stand the strain.

Boehner folds up once again...

It must really suck to have only one nut. Boehner caved in to obama and harry reid on the payroll tax cut.

The whole thing is bullshit anyway. It's nothing but a scheme to make republicans look bad.

If there is a tax we whould be paying it is this one. The tax they cut last year and extended for another whole two months is the one that funds Social Security and Medicare. Since there is no Social Security "lockbox" and social security is already operating in the red, cutting  the funding for it is pretty damn stupid to begin with.

All this "tax cut" does is short change the Social Security system and add to what our government has to borrow each year. We are going to wind up paying for it anyway.

Boehner needs to quit being such a pussy and stand up. Be a man. If he never intended to follow through with this thing he should have saved himself the humiliation and gave in from the beginning. Now he just looks really lame.

We need someone else in charge of the House. Someone with a PAIR of balls...

holder throws out the race card... again

holder's people can spin his comments any way they want to. What he said was pretty clear. He does have a point though, he and obama are both black. But you know, I think they are both arrogant, lying, scumbags and it doesn't have a damn thing to do with the color of their skin. There was a time when I would have voted for Colin Powell. And I was a big fan of Herman Cain. I didn't think he had the experience we need at the helm in the difficult times to come, but he would have been an excellent VP or cabinet member. I would also support Condi Rice for a VP spot.

The race card has been so used and abused by the likes of al sharpton, jesse jackson and all the other race baiting idiots that it has lost it's meaning. Calling someone a racist used to mean something. It used to be an insult that had some sting behind it. Anymore, not so much, because it is used for someones gain and not much more. holder is throwing that thought around to try and gain some sort of an edge.

Like I said the other day, holder shouldn't be asked to resign. He should be fired, tried, and locked up like any criminal should be. He is guilty of a long list of crimes against this Country.

Secret Service has arrived, street barricades are in place, and the U.S. Coast Guard has stationed itself in the waters surrounding Kailua, Oahu.

That is a sure sign President Barack Obama’s security team is preparing for the first family to arrive in the small beachside community as early as Friday night for what is expected to be a 17-day vacation.

The President and his family are traveling separately to Hawaii because he wants resolve the payroll tax cut issue before leaving Washington – and his wife does not want to wait.

But the advanced trip and the cost that comes with it – as much as $100,000 (flight and security) – adds to an already expensive vacation for the taxpayers.

Hawaii Reporter research shows the total cost for the President’s visit for taxpayers far exceeded $1.5 million in 2010 – but is even more costly this year because he extended his vacation by three days and the cost for Air Force One travel has jumped since last assessed in 2000. In addition, Hawaii Reporter was able to obtain more specifics about the executive expenditures.

The total cost (based on what is known) for the 17-day vacation roundtrip vacation to Hawaii for the President, his family and staff has climbed to more than $4 million. Here's why.

TRAVEL: $3,629,622

The biggest expense is President Barack Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii via Air Force One, a cost the GAO office estimated at $1 million in the year 2000. Contacted today, the GAO confirmed there is no report the independent office affiliated with Congress has prepared since 2000 to operate Air Force One and Air Force Two.

However, the U.S. Air Force provides the most current numbers of $181,757 per flight hour. Travel time for Air Force One direct from Washington D.C. to Hawaii is about 9 hours or $1,635,813 each way for a total of $3,271,622 for the round trip to Hawaii and back.

The cost for USAF C-17 cargo aircraft that transports the Presidential limos, helicopters and other support equipment to Hawaii was not made available. However, the flight time between Andrews Air Force Base and Hawaii is at about 21.5 hours roundtrip, with estimated operating cost of $12,000 per hour. (Source: GAO report, updated by C-17 crew member). The United States Marine Corps provides a presidential helicopter, along with pilots and support crews for the test flights, which travel on another C-17 flight. That is $258,000, not including costs for the 4 to 6 member crew's per diem and hotel.

Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii costs about $63,000 (White House Dossier), but add security and personnel for a total of about $100,000.

HOUSING: $151,200

The President and his family pay for their own beachfront rental (they are not staying in the Winter White House this year but rather a house on the same street further to the ocean point).

The Kailua rentals are fronted by the ocean and backed by a canal. So, the taxpayers must cover the costs for housing U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Coast Guard and Navy Seals in beach front and canal front homes in Kailua.

That costs about $1,200 a day ($200 allocated per bedroom per day). Since security arrives one day early, homes are rented for 18 days.

That is about $21,600 per home for approximately 7 houses rented at a total cost of $151,200 for security to stay nearby.

HOTEL: $72,216

The President’s staff and White House Press Corps stay at one of Hawaii’s oldest and most elegant hotels, the Moana Surfrider. Hawaii Reporter confirmed they are again staying there this year. Besides its stunningly beautiful view of Waikiki, and its traditional architecture, it is one of the most pricey hotels in the state.

Government rates are $177 per night, but that only is available during certain times a year.

Rooms typically start at $250 but can cost on average as much as $450 a night, and are even higher during the holidays. Hotel spokeswoman Marsha Weinert said she could "neither confirm nor deny" the president's staff is staying there.

A conservative estimate with rooms at the government rate of $177 per day (excluding a 9.25 percent Transient Accommodation Tax and a 4.712 percent General Excise Tax on each bill, meals, internet charges and other charges) means the taxpayers are covering more than $72,216 in hotel bills for an estimated 24 staff.

LOCAL TAXPAYER COSTS: $260,000

Local police over time for the president’s visit has historically cost Oahu taxpayers $250,000 but may be more expensive this year with the extended vacation.

The city ambulance the accompanies the president 24 hours a day through his entire visit is $10,000, according to city spokeswoman Louise Kim McCoy.

UNKNOWN COSTS

There are several costs the White House annually refuses to release, citing security.

■For example, the president’s security usually rents an entire floor of an office building in Kailua on the canal during the president’s stay.

■There are security upgrades and additional phone lines to several private homes where Obama and friends are staying. That includes bullet proof glass installed, home security systems disabled, new security measures put into place and additional phone lines added.

■There is the cost for car rentals and fuel for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel.

■And there are additional travel costs Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the President.

The total cost (based on what is known) for a 17-day round trip vacation to Hawaii for the President and his family and staff and security is an estimated $4,113,038.

Hawaii Reporter annually has requested details on the cost of the President’s trip, but the White House will not release any figures, citing security concerns. A spokesperson has maintained the costs are "in line" with other presidential vacations.

Hawaii Reporter has sought to determine the cost of vacations for the current president and last two presidents but the Government Accountability Office was able to provide those costs and referred Hawaii Reporter back to the White House spokesperson.

Rick Perry, Barack Obama and the War On Christianity

The day after this ad aired, I heard all kinds of comments on the talk radio about it. You know, this ad says a lot more than it's 30 seconds would lead you to believe. obama didn't start the war on religion in this Country, but he has perpetuated it. The war was actually started by the likes of the aclu and other fringe groups with lots of money and time. obama uses those fringe groups to further his own agenda.

Perry's comment about gays in the military isn't an attack on our Men and Women serving. It's a criticism of a system that allows politics to interfere with the defense of our Nation. Yes, allowing openly gay persons to serve in our military is going to put our National Security at risk. But, more importantly, it says something about our values and morals in this Country. We used to have some. Not so much anymore.

We have allowed these fringe groups to come to the front and center of our society. To steer the direction of our law makers. To dictate the direction of our media. It's our own fault. We, as conservatives, have remained silent for far too long. We have kept our heads down and worked, never making waves. Have we waited too long to wake up and pay attention? Have we let our Country fall to far to get it back on the path laid out by our Founding Fathers? We will know next November. It may be the last chance we have to save the greatest force for good this world has ever known...

Republican presidential candidate Texas Gov. Rick Perry has decided to address the big elephant in the pew as we head into 2012 – the Obama administration’s relationship with religion – specifically Christianity.

“As president, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion,” Perry declared in a new television advertisement. “And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.”

Perry’s declaration immediately resonated with millions of Christians around the nation who believe their faith is under attack and who’ve been waiting for a Republican presidential candidate to have the candor and moral fortitude to stand up and articulate why we are truly the greatest nation on the face of the Earth.

“I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate or pray in school.”

President Obama declared early in his campaign for the White House that he is a Christian. We were led to believe that he was a supporter of the Purpose Driven teachings of California pastor Rick Warren. But it didn’t take long to discover that the only Sunday morning activity President Obama did on purpose was drive golf balls.

The evidence of his White House attacking the Christian faith, however, is plentiful.

It was President Obama who declared in an e-mail to CBN News that “whatever we once were, we’re no longer just a Christian nation.”

This is the same administration that invited Lady Gaga into the White House for an anti-bullying conference but banned Franklin Graham from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer observances.

It was during the Obama administration that Christian school children were ordered to stop praying outside the Supreme Court building because they were violating the law. Instead, those American boys and girls were forced to pray for the elected officials while standing in a gutter.

It was President Obama who dropped the words “by their Creator” when reciting a key excerpt from the Declaration of Independence to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus – not once, but twice.

It was the Obama administration that opposed the commemoration of a prayer by Franklin Roosevelt at the site of the World War II Memorial on the Washington Mall, arguing that it would “dilute” the memorial’s central message.

And it was the Obama White House that asked Georgetown University to cover up all religious signs and symbols prior to a presidential address.

The Obama administration has used our military as a social engineering petri dish – pulling gay and lesbian soldiers out of the closet while pushing Christians back inside.

In recent days, we’ve learned that the Navy adopted and later rescinded a policy that would have banned parents from giving their wounded soldier-children Bibles at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Does Obama Think It's Beneath Him to Be President?

obama does think the presidency is beneath him. He would much rather be king. If he were king, his word would be law, no more worrying with that pesky congress or Constitution. He could have people flogged or worse for not fainting at his every word.

Don't think those aren't his goals. He would love nothing more than to create his very own kingdom, right here, in our Country. He travels around in one of the most expensive aircraft ever invented, he speaks only to adoring throngs of handpicked listeners. He and his family vacation at only the most luxurious locales at our expense. He can't be bothered with speaking to congress. He passes down his decrees to his underlings and expects them to be followed.

The words cut like a knife. “What the hell are we paying you for?” Gov. Chris Christie asked of President Obama.

The New Jersey Republican has a gift for getting to the heart of things, and his broadside against the president over the debt bomb is Exhibit A. His assertion, framed as a question, makes the case against Obama better than anything heard from the actual candidates.

Christie’s decision not to run remains a disappointment, but he is a valuable player who can help sharpen the fuzzy aim of Mitt Romney, the man he supports. Christie’s consistent theme is that Obama has defaulted on the responsibility to provide presidential leadership during a national crisis.

On Monday, the GOP heavyweight called Obama “a bystander in the Oval Office” for ducking the congressional committee charged with finding $1.2 trillion in deficit reductions over 10 years.

“I was angry this weekend, listening to the spin coming out of the administration about the failure of the super committee, and that the president knew it was doomed for failure, so he didn’t get involved,” Christie said. “Well, then, what the hell are we paying you for? ‘It’s doomed for failure so I’m not getting involved?’ Well, what have you been doing, exactly?”

The questions are rhetorical in that we know what the president has been doing and why. He plays golf and campaigns.

Governing is beneath him.

He doesn’t talk much to members of Congress or his own Cabinet.

They’re beneath him.

His connection to the public consists of speeches before large crowds, and he ducks behind the curtain and into the security bubble as soon as he finishes.

The people are beneath him.

Warped by a sense of entitlement and self-aggrandizement, Obama refuses to take responsibility for finding practical solutions to problems. He prefers the glory of transformation rather than the roll-the-sleeves-up work of reform.

When he can’t get his way, he appoints a czar and ignores Congress.

Democracy is beneath him.

He could have brokered a deficit deal, but doing so would have demolished his campaign slogan that Republicans are to blame for everything. Any deal would give him ownership of the results, and end the fiction that politics are beneath him.

Iran has shown that they have a US drone on TV. Nobody in washington appears to be denying it. Now Iran says it is theirs to keep. Did obama or someone in his group of thugs actually call Iran and ask for it back?  Did they really think that Iran would give us back the equipment we were using to spy on them? Maybe they should have should have said pretty please.

Like I said before, I'm absolutely stunned that this equipment didn't have some sort of destruct device built in to it. Kind of seems like that would have been a good idea. But in the hours after this thing was downed we missed opportunities. If I were in charge, there is no way in hell I would have sent Special Operations guys in there. That's just asking for trouble. If one of those guys were to be taken hostage, we would have a real mess on our hands. But, I would have used the gps tracking stuff to blow it to hell, and anyone that was in the vicinity.

But going back to the design, if it were up to me, we would put a very small nuclear device in all of these bad boys. And a sound system. When it goes missing, just wait until you hear chinese and russian voices and push the button. Boom. Vaporized technology and anybody that has seen it. Problem solved.

UN Calls For Eco-Fascist World Government At Durban Summit

The u.n. has completely gone off of the deep end. According to this article, they are calling for a more than 100% reduction in CO2 emmisions by 2050. That would call for the death of billions of people who ehale carbon dioxide. I say we start by doing away with all the people in the u.n. and see if that helps at all. It would certainly reduce the level of dumbasses by about 35%.

Do you think obama and hillary clinton will go ahead and sign us up for this? Given the opportunity, I could see them doing it. We need to, as a Country, tell the u.n. to fuck off. This "treaty" would be the end of mankind.

“International Climate Court of Justice” would force western nations to pay “climate debt”

Bureaucrats at the UN Climate Summit in Durban have outlined plans for the most draconian, harebrained and madcap climate change treaty ever produced, under which the west would be mandated to respect “the rights of Mother Earth” by paying a “climate debt” which would act as a slush fund for bankrolling an all-powerful world government.

Even as the tattered shreds of whatever credibility global warming alarmists had left evaporate in the aftermath of Climategate 2.0, the monstrous bureaucracy behind ManBearPig continues to lurch forward.

Lord Christopher Monckton’s extensive report breaks down the key aspects of the current draft text.

“Here – and, as always, you heard it here first, for the mainstream media have conspired to keep secret the Madness of King Rajendra and his entire coterie of governmental and bureaucratic lunatics worldwide – is what the dribbling, twitching thrones and dominions, principalities and powers of the world will be asked to agree to,” he writes, adding that actual climate science has not been a topic of debate at the summit.

- The treaty calls for the west to achieve a 50% CO2 emissions reduction within the next eight years, a feat that would completely bankrupt the global economy and spark a new great depression, as well as a “more than 100%” reduction by 2050, which presumably could only be accomplished by killing billions of humans to prevent them from exhaling carbon dioxide.

“So, no motor cars, no coal-fired or gas-fired power stations, no aircraft, no trains. Back to the Stone Age, but without even the right to light a carbon-emitting fire in your caves,” writes Monckton.

- The text calls for a 2 degree Celsius drop in global temperatures, which as Monckton points out “would kill hundreds of millions” and herald a new ice age.

- The reduction in CO2 concentration the text calls for would actually begin to kill all plant life and trees on the planet because they need levels of carbon dioxide above 210 ppmv to survive.

- All military forces would be abolished because they contribute to climate change. Presumably the United Nations would then take on the role of world army to police the globe.

- The process will be enforced by an “International Climate Court of Justice” under a bureaucracy of world government that will force western nations to pay “climate debt,” as well as reparations to third world nations to pay for carbon cuts that wouldn’t be as drastic. The burden of “historical responsibility” has been applied to industrialized nations, implying they are guilty for whatever the weather decides to do and must be punished for it.

- All the money will be collected by the UN and whatever is left after they have taken their considerable cut will be doled out according to the wishes of UN bureaucrats. “As a senior UN diplomat told me last year, “The UN exists for only one purpose: to get more money. That, and that alone, is the reason why it takes such an interest in climate change,” writes Monckton.

- Environmental enforcement arms of the UN will be given the power of a global government in the name of fighting climate change. “The draft “agrees that common principles, modalities and procedures as well as the coordinating and oversight functions of the UNFCCC are needed” – in short, global centralization of political, economic and environmental power in the manicured hands of the Convention’s near-invisible but all-powerful secretariat. No provision is made for the democratic election of key members of the all-powerful secretariat – in effect, a world government – by the peoples of our planet,” writes Monckton.

- This world government will mandate that western nations submit reports every two years on their progress and then implement the measures demanded by the world government.

- The UN will create several new slush funds from which to enrich its coffers, including a tax on shipping and aviation fuel, a new “green climate fund” and a worldwide cap and trade. Most of the costs will be handed down to taxpayers.

This merely scratches the surface of what the UN is trying to include in its “legally-binding treaty,” which represents eco-fascism on steroids. Despite press reports that the text is once again likely to be rejected, Monckton points out that UN bureaucrats are confident they can get some form of deal rammed through on this occasion.

Internal DOJ Email: Kagan Was Brought Into Loop on Mark Levin’s Obamacare Complaint

Internal Justice Department email communications made just days before the House of Representatives passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act show that then-Solicitor General Elena Kagan was brought into the loop as DOJ began preparing to respond to an anticipated legal complaint that Mark Levin and the Landmark Legal Foundation were planning to file against the act if the House used a procedural rule to “deem” the bill passed even if members never directly voted on it.

In another internal DOJ email communication that same week, Kagan alerted the chief of DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel to the constitutional argument that a former U.S. Appeals Court judge was making against the use of this rule.

Then, during Kagan’s Supreme Court confirmation process four months later, Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee asked her in writing if she had “ever been asked about your opinion” or “offered any view or comments” on the “the underlying legal or constitutional issues related to any proposed health care legislation, including but not limited to Pub. L. No. 111-148 [PPACA], or the underlying legal or constitutional issues related to potential litigation resulting from such legislation?"

Kagan answered both questions: “No.”

The DOJ emails from the week before the health-care bill passed--which were released as the result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by the Media Research Center (CNSNews.com’s parent organization) and Judicial Watch--raise additional questions about whether Kagan should recuse herself from judging the case against PPACA when the court considers it early next year.

A federal law—28 U.S.C 455—says that a Supreme Court justice must recuse from “any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned” or if he “expressed an opinion concerning the merits of the particular case in controversy” while he “served in governmental employment.”

In the days leading up to the March 21, 2010 House vote on the health-care bill, one underlying constitutional issue that became part of the national debate was whether the House could approve the Senate version of the bill without ever directly voting on it by using a procedural rule crafted by then-House Rules Chairman Louise Slaughter (D.-N.Y.)

On March 10, 2010, National Journal’s Congress Daily published a brief story under the headline, “Slaughter Preps Rule to Avoid Direct Vote on Senate Bill.”

The next morning, Washington Examiner Editorial Page Editor Mark Tapscott posted a blog entry citing the Congress Daily report. “In the Slaughter Solution,” Tapscott wrote, “the rule would declare that the House ‘deems’ the Senate version of Obamacare to have passed the House. House members would still have to vote on whether to accept the rule, but they would then be able to say they only voted for the rule, not the bill itself.”

That night on his nationally syndicated radio show, Landmark Legal Foundation President Mark Levin, who served as chief of staff to Attorney General Ed Meese in the Reagan Justice Department, gave a seven-minute presentation on the Slaughter rule. Levin explained why, in his view, use of the rule would violate Article 1, Section 7, Clause 2 of the Constitution which requires both houses of Congress to vote on a bill before it can be presented to the president for his signature.

Levin concluded his discussion by vowing to file a lawsuit against the health-care bill if House Democrats used the Slaughter rule to send it to the president without a direct vote.

“I can tell you, if they pursue this process and try to impose this kind of a law without actually passing a statute, that I will be in a race with scores of others to the courthouse to stop this,” said Levin. “I can’t think of a more blatant violation of the United States Constitution than this.”

Do you think if any member of the obama administration had been present during this attack they would be calling it "workplace violence". Hell no they wouldn't! In that moment in time, bullets flying and some assclown screaming out "allahu akbar", they would have known the meaning of terror. And if they had been one of those hit by a round from this terrorist, would they call the attack what it was, terror?
