Did Jon Huntsman really say that?

On CBS's "The Early Show", Jon Huntsman said, "They pick corn in Iowa. They pick presidents in New Hampshire."

Seriously? What can this guy be thinking? Why would a person running for president speak with so much disrespect about an entire State? Especially a State that could make a big difference in the rest of his campaign?

Oh well, it's not like he has any kind of a shot to begin with.

Like I've said in the past, he would make one hell of a used car salesman.

Hey Jon, after you finish alienating the Country one State at a time, give me a shout. I know a guy that owns a lot. Maybe he will put you to work.

Dave has a good point about Newt...

A reader, Dave, left this comment on my post about Newt Gingrich from a few days ago...

"BillyBob, take a look at this article. Sure wish I could make this type money for telling people what to do. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-11-16/gingrich-said-to-be-paid-at-least-1-6-million-by-freddie-mac.html Newt gave us NAFTA, TARP and some other little nasty gifts. He will sell us downriver in a heartbeat. Dave"

Dave, I'm with you. I know all these things about Newt and share your concerns. But, you know, it's kind of to the point for me of which candidate do I have the least issues with. I hate to say that, but look at the field we have to choose from.

Anyone with a brain in their head knows that another obama term is totally unacceptable. The guy has been a disaster from day ONE and got worse from there. We know that. While "anybody but obama" sounds good in theory, practice is a whole different thing. We need to elect someone that knows how to get this Country back on track and restore our standing in the world as a Superpower. Not just from a military perspective but overall.

Is Newt that guy? Probably not, but neither are any of the other candidates. Each of them comes with their own set of things that scare me or piss me off. I wish I could frankenstein a candidate from what we have available.

I haven't decided on a candidate yet, which is weird. Usually I can pick my guy and stick with them to the end. I keep hoping that something will happen during a debate or interview with one of them that tells me, "ok, that's the person I can support". I'm not counting on it...

Newt is rising...

It seems Newt is on the rise. Seriously, it had to happen. During all of the debates he is the smartest guy on the stage. He has a world of actual experience. You can't name a government situation that he hasn't lived through.

During the debate last Saturday night, his foreign policy experience overwhelmed all of the other candidates, except maybe Michele Bachmann on an issue or two.

I'm not saying that Newt is my guy, but he is looking better and better. I'm not sure if it's all due to him or if part of it is the lack of a better candidate.

I'm starting to get a little disillusioned with our options.

The media has already picked Romney. If I was sure that Romney would be better than obama I wouldn't be near as skeptical, I'm not that sure. The guy is to eager to make a compromise. That's what got us in the shape we are in now. That and a socialist in the white house.

I still like Perry. I wish the guy was better in the debates so others would see what I see.

The hits keep on coming for Herman Cain...

OMG! How many women are the democrats going to be able to dig up to accuse this guy of stuff?

I've found I'm not as big a fan of Herman Cain as I was in the beginning but it has nothing to do with these accusations. We've been over that. His stance on gun control is a little scary.

As far as these women accusing him of various things, most of it is going to be he said, she said. And I always get a little skeptical when gloria allred has her face plastered all over the TV.

Here is the part that kills me. Right now the accusations are front page news every where you look, but when these women are discredited or they claims are proven to be false, will THAT be front page news? No, it will be buried in there somewhere, but certainly not out front for everyone to see. And do you think anyone will apologize to Herman Cain for attempting to assainate his character? Haha, not bloody likely!

Herman Cain seems to be a stand up guy. I can imagine that in his business life he was a true professional. Could he have made some comments that were misinterpreted? Sure. Does that stuff happen all the time? Yep. Do I believe these women actually had a case against him? I doubt it. I do think sometimes people want to get paid and big shots can make good targets.

Why now is this becoming a huge deal? Because Cain was surging in the polls and it was freaking some people out. Maybe it was one of the republican candidates, but my money is on this being somehow linked to obama and his gang of thugs...
