Me and Big Mullet went to the gunshow today. Normally this particular group puts on a nice show. I have to tell you, we were a little disappointed. It seems like there were more booths of crap like candles and jewelry than there were guns. There was hardly any reloading gear. I only saw primers at two booths and they were outrageous on the price. There were only a couple of vendors selling big quantities of ammo and most of it was priced at about retail.
We had three rifles and one pistol that we wanted to look at. Big Mullet was able to find the pistol and the price on it was more than it should have been. It was the XDM 5.25. He is wanting one but not at those prices. We didn't find any of the rifles, but then we weren't counting on it. We wanted to see a Daewoo K2, no luck. We wanted to see a Spanish FR8, again, no luck. And the last one was the CZ 58.
If you aren't familiar with these weapons, give them a Google. They are all nice looking and supposed to be good shooters. The Daewoo is a South Korean cross between an AK-47 and the M16. You can spot both of those weapons in the Daewoo.
One thing I did see was the SCCY CPX-2. It's not a bad looking little pistol. It didn't fit my hand very well. Since it would be a concealed carry weapon for my Bride, I need her to see how it fits her. The price was nice on it, $249 bucks. I might try to take her up there tomorrow and have a look.
